Unfortunately for private and unforeseen reasons the original line up of Yussef Kamaal will no longer perform together. To ensure that all the fans of Yussef Kamaal still have the opportunity to experience the music of Yussef Kamaal, there will be the following line up performing: Yussef Dayes presents Black Focus Yussef Dayes – drums Mansur Brown – electronic guitar & bass Charlie Stacey – synth and keys Yussef Kamaal is a jazz-funk duo composed by the two south Londoners Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams (also known as  Henry Wu). Yussef Kamaal distinct sound represents a convergence between 70’s jazz-funk and the bass-saturated, pirate radio broadcasts from the british capital. Dayes is drummer for the afrobeat band United Vibrations, while Williams is a well-known producer, keyboard player and drummer. The pair crossed paths in 2007 while pursuing other musical projects, and meet again during the rehearsal of a William’s one-off gig for the Boiler Room, when they decided to form a band. Without pre-planned arrangements, Yussef Kamaal music was always spontaneously created, highlighting a strong chemistry between the two in a dynamic and experimental approach to the musical research. The duo played in a 20-minute set at Gilles Peterson’s awards show who, once noticed their strength, signed them to his Brownswood label.
